Drywall finisher

Good Hands Construction Inc in Thornhill, ON is seeking a self-motivated Drywall finisher. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. Required shifts: Overtime required.

Job Description

• The candidate must measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets.
• The candidate must position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists.
• The candidate must spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings.
• The candidate must tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound.
• The candidate must trowel or spray coats of stucco over exteriors of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces.
• The candidate must cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets.
• The candidate must install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings, and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath.
• The candidate must install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related industry.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate must be a good team player.

• The candidate must be able to work at heights.
• The candidate must work in cold or refrigerated conditions.
• The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
• The candidate must work in hot conditions.
• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
