Drafting technician, design

Now hiring: Drafting technician, design at Homestead Woodworks in Hawkesville, ON. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. The schedule involves Day, , 07:00 to 17:00 shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must prepare engineering designs and drawings.
• The candidate must read blueprints to determine work requirements.
• The candidate must train new drafting personnel.
• The candidate must develop and prepare design sketches.
• The candidate must prepare construction specifications, costs, and material estimates.
• The candidate must complete documentation packages and drawing sets.
• The candidate must examine drawings for conformity and errors.
• The candidate must consult with clients, engineers, or production specialists to establish product requirements.
• The candidate must operate CADD and other computer software systems.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must have excellent written communication skills.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
