Drafter

Kingswood Interiors Ltd in Calgary, AB is seeking a self-motivated Drafter. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. This role offers Permanent employment or Full time employment. The schedule involves Day shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must prepare engineering designs and drawings.
• The candidate must read blueprints to determine work requirements.
• The candidate must develop and prepare design sketches.
• The candidate must write specifications.
• The candidate must examine drawings for conformity and errors.
• The candidate must consult with clients, engineers, or production specialists to establish product requirements.
• The candidate must provide clients with information.
• The candidate must make custom designs for clients.
• The candidate must consult with clients to determine their needs, preferences, safety requirements, and purpose of space.
• The candidate must develop detailed plans and 3-D models showing the arrangement of walls, dividers, displays, lighting, and other fixtures.
• The candidate must develop plans, elevations, cross-sections, and detailed drawings.
• The candidate must advise on the selection of colors, finishes, materials, lighting, furniture, and other items, considering ergonomic and occupational health standards.
• The candidate must prepare layouts in conformance with building codes, using measuring tools.
• The candidate must read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements.
• The candidate must prepare specifications of custom-made cabinets that maximize storage.
• The candidate must prepare detailed specifications for projects or tasks.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree.
• Relevant experience considered in lieu of education.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• The candidate should be willing to work under pressure.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate must be able to distinguish between colours.
• The candidate should be willing to work for long hours in sitting positions.
