Disability support worker

Harmony Centre for Community Living in Red Lake, ON is inviting applications for the position of Disability support worker. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. This role offers Permanent employment or Full time employment. Work schedule: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Flexible hours.

Job Description

• The candidate must administer medications as prescribed.
• The candidate must assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene.
• The candidate must assist in regular exercise, such as walking.
• The candidate must collect specimens.
• The candidate must feed or assist in feeding.
• The candidate must launder clothing and household linens.
• The candidate must perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
• The candidate must provide companionship.
• The candidate must provide personal care.
• The candidate must shop for food and household supplies.
• The candidate must prepare and serve nutritious meals.
• The candidate must cook meals as required.
• The candidate must transport patients to hospitals or other medical facilities for further medical care.
• The candidate must record transactions accurately.
• The candidate must implement behaviour management programs.
• The candidate must record vital signs.
• The candidate must accurately record observations.
• The candidate must follow through on treatment programs with patients.
• The candidate must discuss work with the supervisor.

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
