Dental assistant

Arista Dental Clinic is situated in Maple Ridge, BC and is hiring a Dental assistant to join the team. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time. Flexible availability required for: Morning, Evening, Weekend.

Job Description

• The candidate must prepare patients for dental examinations.
• The candidate must order dental and office supplies as required.
• The candidate must prepare dental instruments and filling materials.
• The candidate must maintain and order supplies.
• The candidate must perform reception and clerical duties.
• The candidate must sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment.
• The candidate must educate patients concerning oral hygiene.
• The candidate must polish teeth and clinical crowns and apply fluoride and sealant.
• The candidate must schedule and confirm appointments efficiently.
• The candidate must perform intra-oral duties.
• The candidate must take and develop X-rays.
• The candidate must record dental procedures performed on patients.
• The candidate must invoice patients for dental services.
• The candidate must take preliminary impressions for diagnostic casts.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The candidate should be client-focused.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate must be accurate.
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate must show initiative.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate should be willing to work under pressure.
• The candidate must be able to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in various positions, including those that require sitting, standing, and walking, as well as those that involve physical activity.
• The candidate must be willing to work in a standing position for extended periods.
• The candidate must have excellent hand-eye coordination.

Work Setting

• The candidate must work in a dental practice to assist with patient care, support dental procedures, manage records, and ensure smooth daily operations.
