Construction cost estimator

LUCKY EXTERIORS in Calgary, AB is seeking a self-motivated Construction cost estimator. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time. Work schedule: Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend.

Job Description

• The candidate must prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs.
• The candidate must prepare pre-qualification submissions to present to clients.
• The candidate must read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
• The candidate must operate CADD and other computer software systems.
• The candidate must prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads.
• The candidate must provide economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects.
• The candidate must project cash flow and financing requirements.
• The candidate must create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms.
• The candidate must set up cost monitoring and reporting systems.
• The candidate must monitor and adjust contract expenditures.
• The candidate must estimate the cost of projects.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years.
• The candidate should be client-focused.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must have excellent written communication skills.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be a good team player.

Work Setting

• The candidate's relocation costs should be covered by the employer, allowing the employer to contribute to the employee's relocation costs incurred in moving closer to the company's offices or other work locations as required.
• The candidate should be willing to relocate and be ready to move to a new city/different city for a job.
