Job Description

  • The candidate must check formwork, granular base, and steel reinforcement materials.
  • The candidate must direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade.
  • The candidate must fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement.
  • The candidate must prepare tenders and quotations.
  • The candidate must operate power vibrators to compact concrete.
  • The candidate must level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specifications.
  • The candidate must work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages.
  • The candidate must impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
  • The candidate must instruct apprentices.
  • The candidate must install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills, and other fixtures.
  • The candidate must apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces.
  • The candidate must waterproof, damp-proof, and restore surfaces.
  • The candidate must repair, resurface, and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.
  • The candidate must read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
