Five Kitchen & Oyster bar in White Rock, BC is inviting applications for the position of Chef. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time.

Job Description

• The candidate must maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
• The candidate must demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to cooking staff.
• The candidate must supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers.
• The candidate must instruct cooks in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
• The candidate must prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets.
• The candidate must supervise cooks and other kitchen staff.
• The candidate must prepare and cook meals or specialty foods.
• The candidate must arrange for equipment purchases and repairs.
• The candidate must plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards.
• The candidate must recruit and hire staff.
• The candidate must train staff in the preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
