Job Description

The candidate must read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements.
The candidate must measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
The candidate must build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
The candidate must fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
The candidate must maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.

Job Requirements

The candidate must be fluent in English.
The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.

Work Site Environment

The candidate must be able to work at heights.
The candidate will be required to work in confined spaces.
The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.

Work Setting

The candidate should work in construction trades and crafts, including bricklaying, stonemasonry, carpentry, joinery, demolition, electrical work, painting and decorating, plumbing, scaffolding, steeple jacking, and wall and floor work.
The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
The candidate must work in renovation to repair, update, or improve residential or commercial properties, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with project specifications.
The candidate must work in residential settings, performing tasks on one-, two-, and three-family dwellings.
