Cable television service technician

Domoticka Inc in Nepean, ON is inviting applications for the position of Cable television service technician. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time.

Job Description

• The candidate must inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment.
• The candidate must repair cable signals.
• The candidate must diagnose and locate equipment faults, and adjust, replace, or repair telecommunications equipment.
• The candidate must inspect operation of telecommunications equipment.
• The candidate must analyze test results and adjust, change, or repair switching systems, networks, associated equipment, and software.
• The candidate must complete and maintain test and service reports.
• The candidate must determine the nature, cause, and location of trouble.
• The candidate must install electromechanical, analog, and digital trunking systems, circuits, and equipment in telecommunications central offices and switching centres.
• The candidate must climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures.
• The candidate must connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets.
• The candidate must repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate will be required to work in confined spaces.

Work Setting

• The candidate must work in the installation process to set up large-scale, mixed-media constructions, often designed for a specific location or time period.
• The candidate must be able to work in an on-site customer service environment, such as an office or business location.
• The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
• The candidate must work in a service environment, performing job duties within the setting, social interactions, and physical conditions required by the role.
