BKS Cablecom Systems Ltd. is situated in Burnaby, BC and is hiring a Cable installer - telecommunications to join the team. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. We are offering a Permanent employment or Full time opportunity.

Job Description

• The candidate must test equipment to locate transmission faults.
• The candidate must install trunking systems, circuits, and equipment.
• The candidate must instruct apprentices.
• The candidate must complete and maintain test and service reports.
• The candidate must determine the nature, cause, and location of trouble.
• The candidate must climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures.
• The candidate must splice, join, and connect wires.
• The candidate must repair or replace defective telephone equipment.
• The candidate must inspect operation of telecommunications equipment.
• The candidate must diagnose and locate equipment faults, and adjust, replace, or repair telecommunications equipment.
• The candidate must install, arrange, remove, and maintain telephone equipment, wiring, and associated hardware.
• The candidate must test installed telephone systems to locate transmission faults.
• The candidate must install electromechanical, analog, and digital trunking systems, circuits, and equipment in telecommunications central offices and switching centres.
• The candidate must analyze test results and adjust, change, or repair switching systems, networks, associated equipment, and software.
• The candidate must operate computerized testing systems to conduct service tests on customer lines and equipment.
• The candidate must initiate the dispatch of appropriate repair personnel.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College/CEGEP diploma.
• Equivalent professional experience accepted.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
