Burning table operator - metal fabrication

Nickel City Steel Limited in Lively, ON is inviting applications for the position of Burning table operator - metal fabrication. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. Flexible availability required for: Overtime required, Early morning, Morning, Day, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must check products for correct shapes, dimensions, and other specifications.
• The candidate must clean and lubricate machinery and equipment.
• The candidate must cut, bend, roll, ream, punch, drill, weld, or otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products.
• The candidate must document work completed.
• The candidate must investigate problems and perform minor repairs.
• The candidate must lay out, set up, and operate one or more light or heavy metalworking machines.
• The candidate must read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions.
• The candidate must select and transport materials to work areas manually or using cranes or hoists.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate must be able to lift more than 45 kg (100 lbs).
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
• The candidate should be willing to work under pressure.
