MK Construction Custom Homes and Renovation is situated in Fort McMurray, AB and is hiring a Bricklayer to join the team. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. Flexible availability required for: Morning, Day, Evening.

Job Description

• The candidate must prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles, or other masonry units.
• The candidate must estimate materials, tools, and equipment required for projects.
• The candidate must lay bricks, stone, or similar materials to provide veneer facing.
• The candidate must construct and install prefabricated masonry units.
• The candidate must build patios, garden walls, and other decorative installations.
• The candidate must read sketches and blueprints to calculate materials required.
• The candidate must cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools.
• The candidate must lay radial bricks to construct masonry shells of industrial chimneys.
• The candidate must lay or install firebricks to line industrial chimneys and smokestacks.
• The candidate will be responsible for lining and relining furnaces, kilns, boilers, and similar installations using refractory or acid-resistant bricks, refractory concretes, plastic refractories, and other specialized materials.
• The candidate must restore, clean, or paint existing masonry structures.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The candidate must be accurate.
• The candidate must be reliable.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in construction trades and crafts, including bricklaying, stonemasonry, carpentry, joinery, demolition, electrical work, painting and decorating, plumbing, scaffolding, steeple jacking, and wall and floor work.
• The candidate's relocation costs should be covered by the employer, allowing the employer to contribute to the employee's relocation costs incurred in moving closer to the company's offices or other work locations as required.
• The candidate must work in renovation to repair, update, or improve residential or commercial properties, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with project specifications.
• The candidate should be willing to relocate and be ready to move to a new city/different city for a job.
• The candidate must work in a commercial setting that fosters a workforce of highly competent, respectful, mature, and accountable employees working toward a common goal.
• The candidate must work in residential settings, performing tasks on one-, two-, and three-family dwellings.
