Automotive repair and service shop supervisor

VORTECH AUTOMOTIVE in Toronto, ON is seeking a self-motivated Automotive repair and service shop supervisor. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join and begin duties immediately. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. The schedule involves Day shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must prepare production and other reports.
• The candidate must resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
• The candidate must supervise workers and oversee projects.
• The candidate must coordinate and schedule activities effectively.
• The candidate must train or arrange for training of staff.
• The candidate must requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
• The candidate must establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units.
• The candidate must advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements.
• The candidate must adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems.
• The candidate must recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions.
• The candidate must perform scheduled maintenance service.
• The candidate must perform diagnostic tests.
• The candidate must inspect to ensure that safe working conditions are maintained.
• The candidate must test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s specifications.
• The candidate must supervise daily activities of floorhands, labourers and helpers.
• The candidate must review work orders.
• The candidate must inspect motors in operation.

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate should be client-focused.
