Automotive mechanic

A.S. AUTO REPAIR LTD. ( Surrey, BC) is currently looking for a skilled Automotive mechanic. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time. Work schedule: Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift.

Job Description

• The candidate must adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems.
• The candidate must confirm findings with a supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace a unit.
• The candidate must discuss work with the supervisor.
• The candidate must inspect and test mechanical units to identify faults and malfunctions.
• The candidate must inspect mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.
• The candidate must inspect motors in operation.
• The candidate must review work orders.
• The candidate must test automotive systems and components.
• The candidate must adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems.
• The candidate must repair or replace mechanical units or components.
• The candidate must test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s specifications.
• The candidate must estimate parts and labour costs to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• The candidate must perform scheduled maintenance service.
• The candidate must advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements.
• The candidate must complete reports to record problems and work performed.
• The candidate must provide exceptional customer service.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate should be client-focused.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• The candidate must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate must be willing to work in a standing position for extended periods.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
• The candidate must work in dirty environments.
• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.

Work Setting

• The candidate must work in a workshop to fabricate, assemble, or repair components and products, ensuring quality and safety.
