Automatic welding machine operator

Steelcon in St. Catharines, ON is seeking a self-motivated Automatic welding machine operator. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. We are offering a Permanent employment or Full time opportunity. Shift timings include: Early morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must interpret welding process specifications.
• The candidate must operate manual or semi-automatic and fully automated welding equipment.
• The candidate must read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes.
• The candidate must examine welds to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
• The candidate must operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
• The candidate must be knowledgeable in Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
• The candidate must operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines.
• The candidate must fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal.
• The candidate must operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air, AOC).
• The candidate must determine weldability of materials.
• The candidate must operate hoisting and lifting equipment.
• The candidate must operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
• The candidate must operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or fill holes, indentations, and seams of metal.
• The candidate must start up, shut down, adjust, and monitor robotic welding production lines.
• The candidate must maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment.
