CHILLIWACK ANIMAL HOSPITAL in Chilliwack, BC is inviting applications for the position of Veterinarian. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. Shift timings include: Morning.

Job Description

• The candidate must diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds, and flocks through physical examinations or laboratory tests.
• The candidate must treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds, or performing surgery.
• The candidate must vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases.
• The candidate must advise clients on feeding, housing, behaviour, breeding, hygiene, and general care of animals.
• The candidate must conduct veterinary research related to areas such as animal nutrition, health care product development, and disease prevention and control.
• The candidate must perform routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations.
• The candidate must provide a range of veterinary services including obstetrics, dentistry, and euthanasia.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must hold a degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry.
• The candidate must be accurate.
• The candidate must have good judgement skills.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate must be willing to work in a standing position for extended periods.

Work Setting

• The candidate must work in a veterinary clinic to provide care and treatment for animals, assist veterinary staff, and support daily operations of the facility.
