Vegetable farm worker

Suntastic Hothouse Inc is situated in Exeter, ON and is hiring a Vegetable farm worker to join the team. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. This role offers Permanent employment or Full time employment. The schedule involves Day, Evening, Weekend, Flexible hours shifts. This position has been approved by the LMIA.

Job Description

• The candidate must grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to size, shape, colour, and volume to fetch a high price in the market.
• The candidate must perform greenhouse cleaning.
• The candidate will be responsible for harvesting vegetables by hand.
• The candidate must pack fruits and vegetables.
• The candidate must manually remove all suckers and water sprouts.
• The candidate must tie and secure plants.
• The candidate must clean work areas.
• The candidate must harvest crops.
• The candidate must report signs of insect or disease damage.
• The candidate must assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants.
• The candidate must cut horticultural crops.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• No experience required. The employer will provide training to the selected candidate.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate must be able to work at heights.
• The candidate must work in hot conditions.
• The candidate must work in cold or refrigerated conditions.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
