Tool and die maker

MTD Metro Tool & Die Ltd in Mississauga, ON is inviting applications for the position of Tool and die maker. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. The schedule involves Day shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must compute dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of workpieces.
• The candidate must inspect final products.
• The candidate must set up machine tools such as lathes, milling machines and grinders.
• The candidate must test prototypes and production tools.
• The candidate must verify machined parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• The candidate must read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
• The candidate must realize machine castings to create metal moulds, core boxes, and precisely shaped models.
• The candidate must lay out, shape, and assemble patterns of metal, wood, plastic, and other materials from blueprints, models, or templates.
• The candidate must position, secure, measure, and work metal stock or castings for machining.
• The candidate must set up and operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must hold a certificate or diploma in a related trade.
• The ideal candidate must have more than 5 years of experience in a related industry.
• The candidate must be accurate.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must have excellent written communication skills.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be a good team player.

Work Site Environment

• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
