Job Description
- The candidate must prepare, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered.
- The candidate must mix, apply, and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives using hand trowels.
- The candidate must prepare rough plans and sketches.
- The candidate must set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to the base.
- The candidate must align and straighten tiles.
- The candidate must cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools.
- The candidate must instruct apprentices.
- The candidate must pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout.
- The candidate must remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles.
- The candidate must supervise other workers.
- The candidate must lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs.
- The candidate must build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires, and brackets.
- The candidate must cut, surface, polish, and install marble and granite.
- The candidate must mix, lay, and polish terra surfaces.
- The candidate must install tile strips.
