Tilesetter

Skyscapes Balcony and Patio Flooring in Etobicoke, ON is inviting applications for the position of Tilesetter. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. We are offering a Permanent employment or Full time opportunity. Shift timings include: Early morning, Morning, Day, Shift.

Job Description

• The candidate must prepare, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered.
• The candidate must mix, apply, and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives using hand trowels.
• The candidate must set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to the base.
• The candidate must align and straighten tiles.
• The candidate must cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools.
• The candidate must pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout.
• The candidate must remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles.
• The candidate must build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires, and brackets.
• The candidate must install tile strips.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Equivalent experience is acceptable.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
