TIG (tungsten inert gas) welder

APS Metal Industries in Pickering, ON is inviting applications for the position of TIG (tungsten inert gas) welder. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. We are offering a Permanent employment or Full time opportunity. Work schedule: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Shift, To be determined.

Job Description

• The candidate must interpret welding process specifications.
• The candidate must operate manual or semi-automatic and fully automated welding equipment.
• The candidate must read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes.
• The candidate must examine welds to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
• The candidate must determine weldability of materials.
• The candidate must operate hoisting and lifting equipment.
• The candidate must operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
• The candidate must maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment.
• The candidate must fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance.
• The candidate must fit and join sheet metal parts.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must hold a Registered Apprenticeship certificate.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be a good team player.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in the industrial area with facilities such as factories, plants, processing operations, and similar operations.
• The candidate must work in manufacturing industry to operate machinery, assemble products, and ensure quality and safety standards are met.
