Job Description
- The candidate must inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment.
- The candidate must install and maintain aerial and underground telephone equipment.
- The candidate must read blueprints to determine work requirements.
- The candidate must repair cable signals.
- The candidate must test equipment to locate transmission faults.
- The candidate must complete and maintain test and service reports.
- The candidate must determine the nature, cause, and location of trouble.
- The candidate must climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures.
- The candidate must connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets.
- The candidate must determine work assignments.
- The candidate must install cable modems and software to enable Internet access.
- The candidate must maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems.
- The candidate must repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers.
- The candidate must splice, join, and connect wires.
