Roofing technician

Western Valley Roofing & Exteriors Ltd in Westside, BC is seeking a self-motivated Roofing technician. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. We are offering a Permanent employment or Full time opportunity. The schedule involves Early morning, Morning, Day shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must install roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings.
• The candidate must repair or replace shingles and shakes on sloped roofs of buildings.
• The candidate must repair roofing systems.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate should be client-focused.
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate must be able to work at heights.
• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
• The candidate must work in residential settings, performing tasks on one-, two-, and three-family dwellings.

• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.
• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.

Security and Safety

• The candidate must be able to pass a driving record check (abstract).
• The candidate must undergo a criminal record check.

Transportation/travel information

• The candidate must have their own transportation.
• The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
