Registered nurse (R.N.)

Galaxy Human Resources Inc is situated in Vernon, BC and is hiring a Registered nurse (R.N.) to join the team. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time.

Job Description

• The candidate must assist health care practitioners during examinations or treatments.
• The candidate must engage in community program development.
• The candidate must monitor patients and advise physicians of any changes in patients' conditions.
• The candidate must participate in community needs assessments to support program development.
• The candidate must address and document symptoms and changes in patients’ conditions.
• The candidate must assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions.
• The candidate must collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care in consultation with patients and their families.
• The candidate must conduct disease screening.
• The candidate must deliver health education programs.
• The candidate must deliver immunization programs.
• The candidate must dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician.
• The candidate must engage in research activities related to nursing.
• The candidate must manage home care cases.
• The candidate must provide consultative services on matters related to the nursing profession and nursing practice.
• The candidate must provide nursing care.
• The candidate must provide supportive counselling and life skills programming.
• The candidate must supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff.
• The candidate must conduct research.
• The candidate must perform administrative tasks.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College/CEGEP diploma.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in a nursing home/home for the aged or people who don't need to be in a hospital but can't be cared for at home.
• The candidate must work in a long-term care center to provide care, support residents, and maintain safety and wellbeing.
