YMCA Association of Cumberland is situated in Port Greville, NS and is hiring a Recreation program leader to join the team. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join and begin duties immediately. We are offering a Term or contractPart time opportunity. Work schedule: Day.

Job Description

• The candidate must demonstrate and instruct athletic, fitness, or sports activities and techniques.
• The candidate must instruct groups and individuals in arts and crafts.
• The candidate must assist with coordination of recreational, sport, and fitness events.
• The candidate must lead groups and individuals in recreational or leisure programs.
• The candidate must plan and carry out recreational, fitness, and sports activities.
• The candidate must prepare reports.
• The candidate must understand principles of group dynamics.
• The candidate must lead and instruct groups.
• The candidate must ensure health and safety regulations are followed.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years.
• Relevant experience considered in lieu of education.
• The candidate should be client-focused.
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must show initiative.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be reliable.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.

Work Setting

• The applicant should be able to work in a school or educational institution/establishment comprising establishments that provide instruction and training in various subjects.

• The candidate must undergo a criminal record check.
• The candidate must be able to pass a Child Abuse Registry check.
