Quality control technician - food processing

Paradise Island Foods is situated in Nanaimo, BC and is hiring a Quality control technician - food processing to join the team. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time. The schedule involves Early morning, Evening, Weekend shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must conduct or assist in air and water quality testing.
• The candidate must conduct or assist in environmental monitoring and protection activities.
• The candidate must maintain laboratory equipment.
• The candidate must operate laboratory apparatus.
• The candidate must compile records for analytical studies.
• The candidate must follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• The candidate must assist in developing sampling and analysis programs to maintain quality standards.
• The candidate must assist in the development of standards and health and safety measures.
• The candidate must compile records and interpret experimental or analytical results.
• The candidate must develop and conduct sampling and analysis programs.
• The candidate must prepare solutions of gases or liquids, reagents and sample formulations.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
