Public works labourer

Town of Saint Andrews ( Saint Andrews, NB) is currently looking for a skilled Public works labourer. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join and begin duties immediately. Terms of employment: Term or contractFull time. The schedule involves Overtime required, Morning, Day shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must clean and maintain sidewalks, streets, roads, and public grounds.
• The candidate must spread sand or salt on sidewalks for snow or ice control.
• The candidate must dig ditches and trenches.
• The candidate must assist in routine maintenance and repair of equipment.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• A candidate with experience is an asset.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate must have good judgement skills.
• The candidate must be a good team player.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate must be able to work at heights.
• The candidate must work in cold or refrigerated conditions.
• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
• The candidate must work in wet or damp conditions.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
