Printing press operator

Now hiring: Printing press operator at Abbeywrap Packaging Ltd. in Abbotsford, BC. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. Shift timings include: Day, Evening, Night, Flexible hours.

Job Description

• The candidate must advise press crews on product specifications or material requirements.
• The candidate must mount plates or cylinders and make necessary adjustments.
• The candidate must prepare production schedules.
• The candidate must review job orders to determine production time, colour sequence and required quantities.
• The candidate must fill ink fountains and control color and viscosity.
• The candidate must plan production methods.
• The candidate must estimate costs.
• The candidate must set up the press and operate it at slow speed to check samples.
• The candidate must remove and clean plates and cylinders at the end of the press run.
• The candidate must direct the press crew to set up, operate, and shut down the press.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Equivalent experience is acceptable.
• The candidate must be accurate.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must have good judgement skills.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate should be willing to work under pressure.
• The candidate must be able to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
• The candidate must be willing to work in a standing position for extended periods.
• The candidate should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment.
