Nursery worker

JRT Nurseries Inc. ( Aldergrove, BC) is currently looking for a skilled Nursery worker. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time. Flexible availability required for: Day, Evening, Weekend, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must clear and collect brush and debris from fields and other work areas.
• The candidate must perform greenhouse cleaning.
• The candidate must level earth to meet fine grade specifications.
• The candidate must tie and secure plants.
• The candidate must perform weeding.
• The candidate must write daily basic progress reports.
• The candidate must assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants.
• The candidate must mix and prepare soils.
• The candidate must plant bulbs and seeds.
• The candidate must pot and re-pot plants.
• The candidate must transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings.
• The candidate must assist in grafting activities.
• The candidate must water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
• The candidate must clean work areas.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• No experience required. The employer will provide training to the selected candidate.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
