Nursery labourer

A. K. Nursery Ltd. in Surrey, BC is inviting applications for the position of Nursery labourer. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. This role offers Permanent employment or Full time employment. Required shifts: Flexible hours. This position has been approved by the LMIA.

Job Description

• The candidate must perform budding of trees.
• The candidate must perform weeding.
• The candidate must spray or dust plants with insecticides and fungicides.
• The candidate must assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants.
• The candidate must mix and prepare soils.
• The candidate must plant bulbs and seeds.
• The candidate must pot and re-pot plants.
• The candidate must transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings.
• The candidate must apply fertilizers.
• The candidate must report signs of insect or disease damage.
• The candidate must assist in grafting activities.
• The candidate must dig up wrapping rootballs of trees and shrubs.
• The candidate must water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
• The candidate must clean work areas.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• A candidate with experience is an asset.
• The candidate must be reliable.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
