Metal fabricator

B & B MECHANICAL CONTRACTORS INC. in Marysville, ON is inviting applications for the position of Metal fabricator. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. This role offers Permanent employment or Full time employment. Required shifts: Day, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must determine materials required.
• The candidate must study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine material requirements.
• The candidate must weld or bolt sections together according to specifications.
• The candidate must set up and operate heavy-duty metal-working machines.
• The candidate must rig, hoist, and move materials to storage areas or within the worksite.
• The candidate must read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes.
• The candidate must operate manual or semi-automatic and fully automated welding equipment.
• The candidate must operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines.
• The candidate must determine weldability of materials.
• The candidate must operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air, AOC).
• The candidate must operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
• The candidate must examine welds to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
• The candidate must read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables.
• The candidate must operate hoisting and lifting equipment.
• The candidate must verify machined parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• The candidate must verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.

• The candidate must hold a certificate or diploma in a related trade.
