Medical administrative assistant

Kingston Health Sciences Centre ( Kingston, ON) is currently looking for a skilled Medical administrative assistant. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time. Required shifts: Day.

Job Description

• The candidate must coordinate the flow of information within the team or organization.
• The candidate must interview patients to obtain case histories.
• The candidate must open, sort, and distribute incoming regular and electronic mail and other materials.
• The candidate must schedule and confirm appointments efficiently.
• The candidate must train staff in procedures and the use of current software.
• The candidate must complete insurance and other claim forms.
• The candidate must maintain a filing system.
• The candidate must order supplies and maintain inventory.
• The candidate must determine and establish office procedures and routines.
• The candidate must enter and format electronically based medical reports, correspondence, spreadsheets, and documents for review.
• The candidate must initiate and maintain confidential medical files and records.
• The candidate must perform data entry.
• The candidate must provide exceptional customer service.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Equivalent experience is acceptable.
• The candidate must be accurate.
