Meat department assistant - supermarket

Thickwood Sobeys ( Fort McMurray, AB) is currently looking for a skilled Meat department assistant - supermarket. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. This role offers Permanent employment or Full time employment. Required shifts: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Flexible hours.

Job Description

• The candidate must direct customers to the location of articles sought.
• The candidate must unpack products received by the store and count, weigh, or sort items.
• The candidate must maintain computerized stock inventory.
• The candidate must order stock.
• The candidate must record incoming stock.
• The candidate must stock shelves and display areas.
• The candidate must keep stock clean and in order.
• The candidate must price items using stamps or stickers according to the price list.
• The candidate must perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping and mopping floors.
• The candidate must perform order picking.
• The candidate must provide exceptional customer service.
• The candidate must have food safety and handling skills.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.

• The candidate should work in a supermarket/grocery store self-service shop offering a wide variety of food, beverages, and household products, organized into sections.
