Job Description
- The candidate must clean meats to prepare them for processing or cutting.
- The candidate must cut carcasses, sides, and quarters of meat.
- The candidate must cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat.
- The candidate must wrap and package prepared meats.
- The candidate must remove bones from meat.
- The candidate must weigh meats for sale.
- The candidate must cut poultry into parts.
- The candidate must price meat products.
- The candidate must sell meats to customers.
- The candidate must supervise other butchers, meat cutters, and fishmongers.
- The candidate must grind meats.
- The candidate must make special sausages.
- The candidate must prepare special orders.
- The candidate must prepare special displays of meats, poultry, and fish products.
- The candidate must shape, lace, and tie roasts, other meats, poultry, and seafood.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must be fluent in English.
- The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
