Marine engineering manager

Rising Tide Research Foundation in Ucluelet, BC is inviting applications for the position of Marine engineering manager. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time.

Job Description

• The candidate must assign engineering projects to engineers or technical workers.
• The candidate must coordinate work activities to ensure projects meet deadlines and budgets.
• The candidate must direct and control daily operations.
• The candidate must evaluate daily operations to ensure efficiency and productivity.
• The candidate must plan and organize daily operations effectively.
• The candidate must review engineering projects to approve or recommend changes.
• The candidate must establish and implement policies and procedures for engineering work.
• The candidate must authorize development of product or service specifications.
• The candidate must evaluate technical designs and engineering work.
• The candidate must oversee the analysis of data and information.
• The candidate must oversee the preparation of reports.
• The candidate must advise senior management.
• The candidate must manage contracts.
• The candidate must develop risk management plans.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree.
• The candidate must have excellent written communication skills.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be adaptable.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
