Maintenance person - building

The Barrel is situated in Fort Erie, ON and is hiring a Maintenance person - building to join the team. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. Flexible availability required for: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, On call, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs.
• The candidate must operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove debris and refuse.
• The candidate must make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
• The candidate must contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment.
• The candidate must perform minor repairs on appliances.
• The candidate must perform safety and security checks.
• The candidate must supervise other workers.
• The candidate must move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
• The candidate must perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate should be willing to work under pressure.
• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.

• The candidate should work in an urban area with a high population density.
• The candidate should work in restaurants that are generally fast-paced and require the utmost efficiency.
