Maintenance carpenter

Plan "B" Contractors Inc. ( Kelowna, BC) is currently looking for a skilled Maintenance carpenter. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. Flexible availability required for: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Flexible hours, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs.
• The candidate must measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
• The candidate must fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
• The candidate must estimate costs and materials.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must hold a Registered Apprenticeship certificate.
• Equivalent experience is acceptable.
• The candidate should be client-focused.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must have good judgement skills.

• The candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate must be able to work at heights.
• The candidate will be required to work in confined spaces.
• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in construction trades and crafts, including bricklaying, stonemasonry, carpentry, joinery, demolition, electrical work, painting and decorating, plumbing, scaffolding, steeple jacking, and wall and floor work.
