Machine operator, woodworking

Prolam Société en commandite is situated in Cap-Saint-Ignace, QC and is hiring a Machine operator, woodworking to join the team. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. Shift timings include: Evening, Shift.

Job Description

• The candidate must set up, program, and operate computerized or manual woodworking machines.
• The candidate must fabricate or repair wooden parts for furniture, fixtures, and other wood products.
• The candidate must operate gluing machines to glue pieces of wood together or press and affix wood veneer to wood surfaces.
• The candidate must operate preset special-purpose woodworking machines to fabricate wood products.
• The candidate must read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions.
• The candidate must clean and lubricate machinery and equipment.
• The candidate must stack and band lumber.
• The candidate must screw, clip, glue, bond, weld, or otherwise assemble parts and components to form final products.
• The candidate must monitor quality and production levels.
• The candidate must inspect wood products for conformance to quality standards.
• The candidate must mark defective parts or products for repair.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in French.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be punctual.
• The candidate must be hardworking.

Work Site Environment

• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
