Machine operator - plastics processing

ORION PLASTICS INC. in St. Albert, AB is inviting applications for the position of Machine operator - plastics processing. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. Shift timings include: Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Shift.

Job Description

• The candidate must troubleshoot and make minor adjustments to equipment.
• The candidate must weigh resins, colorants and other chemicals according to formulas.
• The candidate must monitor and inspect quality of produced materials.
• The candidate must place weighed materials into mixing machines.
• The candidate must operate mixing machines to blend plastics and chemicals to required consistency and viscosity.
• The candidate must change dies on extruding machines according to production line changes.
• The candidate must organize and maintain inventory.
• The candidate must trim and sand plastic or fiberglass parts.
• The candidate must use computer numerical control (CNC) machines.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must be accurate.
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in various positions, including those that require sitting, standing, and walking, as well as those that involve physical activity.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate must be willing to work in a standing position for extended periods.

• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
