Machine operator - fish processing

WM. R. MURPHY FISHERIES LTD. ( Arcadia, NS) is currently looking for a skilled Machine operator - fish processing. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. We are offering a Seasonal employment or Full time opportunity. Shift timings include: Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift.

Job Description

• The candidate must check products and packaging for defects, ensure conformance to company standards, and perform corrective machine adjustments as required.
• The candidate must record production information.
• The candidate must set up and operate machines to can, bag, box, or otherwise package fish and seafood products.
• The candidate must set up and operate machines to clean, cut, cook, smoke, brine, dehydrate, or otherwise process fish or seafood products.
• The candidate must clean machines and immediate work areas.
• The candidate must apply quality control procedures.
• The candidate must have food safety and handling skills.
• The candidate must follow emergency and safety procedures.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.

Work Site Environment

• The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
• The candidate must work in cold or refrigerated conditions.
• The candidate must work in wet or damp conditions.
