Long haul truck driver

Sea to Sky Courier and Freight Ltd. in Squamish, BC is inviting applications for the position of Long haul truck driver. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. This role offers Permanent employment or Full time employment. Shift timings include: Early morning, Morning, Weekend, Overtime available.

Job Description

• The candidate must plan or adjust routes using computer equipment, GPS, or other navigation devices to optimize fuel efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
• The candidate must load and unload goods efficiently.
• The candidate must operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials safely.
• The candidate must oversee the condition of vehicles and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
• The candidate must perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle operation.
• The candidate must perform preventive maintenance.
• The candidate must record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
• The candidate must transport and handle dangerous goods.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be hardworking.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate should be willing to work for long hours in sitting positions.
