Long haul truck driver

SPS FREIGHT LOGISTICS LTD. in Woodbridge, ON is seeking a self-motivated Long haul truck driver. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. This is a Permanent employment or Full time position. Flexible availability required for: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Shift.

Job Description

• The candidate must load and unload goods efficiently.
• The candidate must operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials safely.
• The candidate must oversee the condition of vehicles and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
• The candidate must perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle operation.
• The candidate must receive and relay information to central dispatch.
• The candidate must record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
• The candidate must be a good team player.

• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate should be willing to work for long hours in sitting positions.
