Long haul truck driver

Gallopline Freight Ltd. in Delta, BC is inviting applications for the position of Long haul truck driver. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. We are offering a Permanent employment or Full time opportunity.

Job Description

• The candidate must drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
• The candidate must obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes.
• The candidate must operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials safely.
• The candidate must perform emergency roadside repairs.
• The candidate must perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle operation.
• The candidate must record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
• The candidate must transport and handle dangerous goods.
• The candidate must plan required documentation and pre- and post-distribution of materials such as itineraries and evaluations.
• The candidate must follow emergency and safety procedures.
• The candidate must communicate with passengers, dispatchers, or other drivers using two-way radio systems.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
