Long haul truck driver

Ocean Blue Trucking Ltd. is situated in Surrey, BC and is hiring a Long haul truck driver to join the team. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. We are offering a Permanent employment or Full time opportunity. Flexible availability required for: Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, On call.

Job Description

• The candidate must drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
• The candidate must load and unload goods efficiently.
• The candidate must obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes.
• The candidate must operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials safely.
• The candidate must oversee the condition of vehicles and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
• The candidate must perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle operation.
• The candidate must record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
• The candidate should be willing to work for long hours in sitting positions.

• The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
