Long haul truck driver

Golden Leaf Transport Inc ( Edmonton, AB) is currently looking for a skilled Long haul truck driver. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. Position status: Permanent employment or Full time.

Job Description

• The candidate must plan or adjust routes using computer equipment, GPS, or other navigation devices to optimize fuel efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
• The candidate must load and unload goods efficiently.
• The candidate must oversee the condition of vehicles and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
• The candidate must perform brake adjustments.
• The candidate must perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle operation.
• The candidate must perform preventive maintenance.
• The candidate must receive and relay information to central dispatch.
• The candidate must record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
• The candidate must transport and handle dangerous goods.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
