Job Description
- The candidate must plan or adjust routes using computer equipment, GPS, or other navigation devices to optimize fuel efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
- The candidate must address and resolve customers' complaints or concerns professionally.
- The candidate must demonstrate expertise in mountain driving.
- The candidate must demonstrate professionalism in customer service.
- The candidate must load and unload goods efficiently.
- The candidate must operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials safely.
- The candidate must oversee the condition of vehicles and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
- The candidate must pay and receive payments for goods.
- The candidate must perform brake adjustments.
- The candidate must perform emergency roadside repairs.
- The candidate must perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle operation.
- The candidate must perform preventive maintenance.
- The candidate must receive and relay information to central dispatch.
- The candidate must record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
- The candidate must tarp and ensure the safety and security of cargo.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must be fluent in English.
- The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
- The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
- The candidate should have an eye for detail.
- The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
- The candidate must be able to handle a large workload.
- The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
