Gidney Fisheries Limited in Conway, NS is inviting applications for the position of Labourer - shellfish processing. The successful candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible. We are offering a Seasonal employment - Part time leading to full time opportunity. Required shifts: Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend.

Job Description

• The candidate must transport fish and shellfish to the designated work area.
• The candidate must weigh fish or shellfish, record weights, and pack products in ice for storage or transport.
• The candidate must clean machines and immediate work areas.
• The candidate must sort fish according to species, weight, and destination.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Or equivalent experience.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate must be willing to work in a standing position for extended periods.

Work Site Environment

• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must work in cold or refrigerated conditions.
• The candidate must work in wet or damp conditions.
