Job counsellor

London Training Centre ( London, ON) is currently looking for a skilled Job counsellor. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. Terms of employment: Permanent employment or Full time. Work schedule: Day.

Job Description

• The candidate must identify barriers to employment and assist clients with job readiness skills, job search strategies, résumé writing, and interview preparation.
• The candidate must collect labour market information regarding job openings, entry requirements, skill requirements, and occupational information.
• The candidate must provide consulting services to community groups, businesses, industries, and organizations involved in career planning support.
• The candidate must liaise with community agencies or partners to coordinate services and provide referrals.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years.
• Or equivalent experience.
• The candidate should be client-focused.
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must be interpersonally aware.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be a good team player.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must uphold values and ethics.
• The candidate must be well-organized.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in a business and industry, the setting, social aspects, and physical conditions in which an individual performs their job.
• The candidate must work in a community-based agency, providing programs and services that support local populations and address community needs.
• The candidate must work in employment agency services to recruit, screen, and place candidates while supporting employers’ staffing needs.
• The candidate must work in a government department and/or agency, supporting public administration, regulatory, or service delivery functions.
• The candidate should work in associations and non-profit organizations, a legal entity organized and operated for a collective, public or social benefit.
