Mad Science of Toronto in North York, ON is seeking a self-motivated Instructor, recreation. This position requires the successful applicant to begin duties at the earliest opportunity. Position status: Term or contractPart time. Work schedule: Morning, Day, Evening, Flexible hours, To be determined.

Job Description

• The candidate must instruct groups and individuals in arts and crafts.
• The candidate must lead groups and individuals in recreational or leisure programs.
• The candidate must lead and instruct groups.
• The candidate must lead and instruct individuals.
• The candidate must teach assigned subjects or skills.

Job Requirements

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The candidate must be dependable.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must have good judgement skills.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate must be reliable.
• The candidate must be energetic.
• The candidate must be outgoing.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
• The candidate must work in a recreational or cultural centre to coordinate programs, maintain facilities, and engage the community.
• The applicant should be able to work in a school or educational institution/establishment comprising establishments that provide instruction and training in various subjects.
• The candidate must work in a daycare to provide care, supervision, and support for children, while ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
• The candidate must work in a children’s program to organize activities, supervise participants, and support their educational, social, and recreational development.

Security and Safety

• The candidate must undergo a criminal record check.
• The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
• The candidate must be able to pass a vulnerable sector check.
• The candidate must provide valid reference information.

Transportation/travel information

• The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
• The candidate must have their own vehicle.
• The candidate must be willing to travel.
• The candidate’s travel expenses will be paid by the employer.
• There is no access to public transportation.
